About Our Team
OUR TEAMOur extended team is an energetic mix of people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. We have former MBAs from the top business schools, bankers, consultants, current business school students, marketing experts and even a PhD in the works. But besides our mission and values, we share another common bond – that of having gone through the process of interviewing extensively for consulting and banking firms with tremendous success. As a result, our guides represent a succinct synthesis of everything we have collectively learnt and observed along the way. We offer tips and insights that can only be derived from going through the process, and distill the vast amount of information out there to the key things you need to know to succeed.
TEAM BIOS
Omari Bouknight works in sales/marketing for a large medical devices company. Prior to working in the medical devices industry, Omari served as a consultant for a global management consulting firm, assisting companies in developing and implementing business strategies. In addition to an MBA from Harvard Business School, he holds Bachelors degrees in Supply Chain Management, International Relations and German.
Sumit Gupta works with McKinsey & Company in their West Coast office. Before management consulting, Sumit spent four years at Sun Microsystems as a researcher and also led product development at an Internet startup. Sumit holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M, and a Bachelors degree from the Indian Institute of Technology.
Larry Maher is an engagement manager with McKinsey & Company. Before management consulting, Larry spent five years in audit and information systems security for Arthur Andersen before returning to business school. Larry holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a Bachelors degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Sanjeev Mordani is an associate at Morgan Stanley in the Investment Banking Division. He has also worked for McKinsey & Company after receiving his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Prior to business school, he worked at Accenture in Strategy Consulting and KPMG in Audit and Business Advisory. Sanjeev also has a Bachelors degree in Commerce from the University of Delhi.
Scott Shrum works in brand management for a large consumer packaged goods company. Before moving into consumer goods, Scott spent five years in the technology sector, working in business development for a software company and later serving as a product marketing manager for a well known financial web site. While in business school, he and Omari Bouknight authored Your MBA Game Plan, a guide for business school applicants that has sold thousands of copies. In 2005, Scott and Omari launched an essay and resume evaluation service under the MBA Game Plan name (www.mbagameplan.com). In addition to an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, Scott holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a minor in Writing from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is simple – to do our best in providing the right tools and resources for anyone who is interested in landing a great job in the consulting and banking industry. Although our guides have been designed keeping in the mind the most common (and competitive) set of candidates – business school students - we have made every effort to present the content in a visual, easy to understand way for non-MBAs. We also strongly believe that the best way to retain knowledge is to never let it stagnate. Thus, we constantly strive to keep our guides current by updating our content on a regular basis with the latest in consulting and banking interviews.
